Allerca, a Lifestyle Pet Company Plans New Strategies for Growth

Allerca, the lifestyle pet company announced today that Steven May has been appointed president. Allerca is the company that created the world's first hypoallergenic cat. The first hypoallergenic kittens will be delivered by ALLERCA to customers next year.

The hypoallergenic kittens by the company have been named one of TIME Magazine's Best Inventions of 2006. It is also launching its second companion pet in 2007 and is planning more. To boost up its operation they have made a few key management appointments that support the company's strategic growth plans.

Among the appointees were Steven May, a Los Angeles native who has a unique combination of business experiences that can help. With more than 30 years of expertise in the veterinary companion pet industries. According to Chief Executive Officer, Megan Young, Steven was instrumental in the launch ALLERCA's hypoallergenic cat. From a consultant he has become a part of the management team that can help provide the necessary impetus forward.

Steven was the Vice President of Strategic Marketing at VPI, a pet insurance company. At VPI the main focus was on veterinarian and breeder markets. Earlier to VPI he was the Vice President of corporate Marketing at Veterinary Centers of America (VCA ANTECH). In this position he provided programs for the hospital and laboratory. He also acted as Vice President for Vet's choice, which was a combined venture of Veterinary Centers of America, Inc. and Heinz Pet Products.

Robert Stephenson, a consultant for ALLERCA since the company's inception, has been names as the chief operations officer where as the founder Simon Brodie, has been appointed Chairman and will continue to offer his guidance and expertise.

'Lifestyle pets' was the description of their companion pets they sold. ALLERCA has successfully developed the companion pet market within the $37-billion-a-year U.S. pet industry. As a part of its strategic growth plans, the company has relocated its head office to Los Angeles, California. It has expanded and plans to open a satellite office in New York City. The office in New York is to provide sales and customer service support to the growing number of East Coast customers.
