More Than Launches Budget Pet Insurance UK pet insurance company, More Than, has launched a new pet insurance policy, called Pet Saver. It is aimed at pet owners who want basic cover for their cat or dog, at a budget price. The premiums for the pet insurance start at just £4.99 per month. This covers veterinary bills, cattery or kennel fees and assistance in the case of a missing pet. The policy covers up to £2,000 of veterinary bills in the first 12 months of treatment. This is available for all cats and dogs and is not dependent on the age of the pet. As well as this, the policy will help contribute funds for advertising and for offering a reward if the cat or dog goes missing. Membership to the Missing Pets Bureau is also covered for a year. If the person who took out the policy is hospitalized, then the policy will cover cattery or kennel fees during the time of their stay in hospital. The new pet insurance policy for the budget-conscious pet owner broadens the range of insurance policies offered by More Than. More Than already have a comprehensive pet insurance cover. More Than wanted to launch a pet insurance policy that could ensure all pet owners could afford to protect their pet. A survey by More Than indicated that 95% of vets believe pet owners should cover their pets with pet insurance. The survey also showed that 45 per cent of vets believe pet owners are paying more attention to their pet''s health. Pet Product Manager for More Than, Melvin Everest, says 82 per cent of pets in the UK are not insured. The Pet Saver policy allows people to cover their pet for the price of a small pet toy or a couple of coffees. As well as launching the new policy, More Than have started to support a new website, called pethealthcare.co.uk. This free website provides a place where pet owners can get answers for concerns about the health of their pets. It includes information on preventing health problems and advice on how to deal with existing health problems. There is also a recommendation scheme, with information on local vets and rescue centres in the UK. There is also a handy facility that allows people who are thinking of buying a pet to find the right type and breed of pet. This is done by asking the potential pet owner to answer questions about lifestyle, time, financial commitments and family. There is also a discussion group, so that pet owners can chat with other pet owners, and an 'ask an expert' section, where pet owners can ask specialists for advice. |
