Accidental Injury

An accidental injury is any injury that is the result of your pet being involved in an accident, whether it be a car accident, or some other unforeseen event. In order for an injury to be considered an accidental injury, the event that caused the injury would need to have been completely unintended.

Most pet insurances cover accidental injuries. It is because of accidental injuries that most pet owners choose to purchase pet insurance. Accidental injuries are usually the more expensive injuries to treat, as they can involve long term and extensive treatments, such as treatment for broken bones, surgery, or hospital stays. Since these types of treatments are so expensive, many pet owners take out pet insurance policies in case their animal is involved in an accident. The best way to avoid having to pay these expenses, of course, is to protect your pet from situations where they would be likely to have an accident.
